Why my APLYiD integration with Zapier, FormsByAir, or another platform isn’t working

Troubleshooting APLYiD integrations with Zapier, FormsByAir, and other third-party platforms

Updated yesterday

APLYiD connects with several third-party platforms via API or native integration. This article covers the most common issues and how to fix them.

Zapier / Zap not triggering

If your Zap is not firing when a verification completes:

  • Ensure the Zap is turned On in Zapier

  • Confirm the APLYiD trigger event is set to the correct action (e.g. Check Completed)

  • Run a test in Zapier using a recent completed verification to confirm the trigger is receiving data

  • If the Zap ran but an action step failed, check the Zapier task history for the specific error

If the Zap has never worked, reconnect your APLYiD account inside Zapier: go to My Apps, find APLYiD, and click Reconnect

FormsByAir — completed verification not pushing through

If a client has completed their verification but the result is not appearing in FormsByAir:

  • Confirm the verification shows as Completed in APLYiD — triggers only fire after completion

  • Check that the APLYiD field in your FormsByAir form is correctly mapped to the APLYiD integration

  • Try refreshing the FormsByAir submission — there can be a short delay of up to 2 minutes

  • If the problem persists, contact FormsByAir support with the APLYiD check ID and the form submission ID

Result is pulling through to the wrong record

This usually happens if the verification link was generated without a reference ID, or the reference ID does not match the expected record in your third-party system. Always pass the correct reference field when sending a verification via API or integration to ensure the result maps to the right record.

General integration troubleshooting steps

  • Confirm the verification completed successfully in APLYiD

  • Check your integration platform’s task or event history for errors

  • Reconnect your APLYiD account in the integration platform if needed

  • Contact APLYiD support with the check ID and a description of the platform involved
