How do I delete or cancel a verification my client hasn't completed?

How to delete a verification your client hasn't completed yet, for example if you sent it to the wrong number or it's no longer needed. This guide is for APLYiD Core (the portal at app.aplyid.com or app.aplyid.co.uk).

Quick answer:

Go to Biometric > Created, click Actions next to the verification and choose Delete. You're not charged for a verification that wasn't completed.

When should I delete a verification?

  • You sent it to the wrong mobile number or the wrong person.

  • You created the same verification twice.

  • The verification is no longer needed, for example the deal has fallen through.

  • Someone is getting reminder messages they shouldn't. Deleting the verification stops the reminders.

If your client simply hasn't received the link, or their link isn't working, you don't need to delete it. Use Resend instead (see below).

How to delete a verification

  1. Log in to APLYiD.

  2. Go to Biometric > Created. This lists verifications your clients haven't completed yet.

  3. Find the verification. You can use the search bar to search by reference number or client name.

  4. Click Actions next to it, then Delete.

  5. Confirm that you want to delete it.

The verification is removed from the Created list and stops working right away.

If you still need to verify the client, create a new verification in Biometric > Verify with the correct details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a deleted verification back?

No, a deleted verification can't be restored. You'd need to create a new one.

Can I delete a verification my client has already completed?

Completed checks can't be deleted individually but they are archived automatically after 7 days, or 1 hour after the report is downloaded, whichever comes first.

Someone contacted us saying they got a verification SMS by mistake. What should I do?

Delete the verification by following the steps above. This stops any more reminders being sent to them. Then create a new verification with your client's correct number.

A verification disappeared from the Created list before my client completed it. Why?

If someone used Resend, the old link is archived and a new one is created. Look for the newer verification in Biometric > Created. It may also have been deleted by another user.
