How do I resend a verification link to my client?

This guide is for APLYiD Core (support.aplyid.com).

Quick answer:

Go to Biometric > Created, find the verification, click Actions and choose Resend. A new link is sent to your client by SMS straight away, and the old link stops working.

Resending is free, as long as your client hasn't completed the verification.

When to resend a link

  • Your client lost or deleted the SMS

  • Your client didn't receive the SMS

  • Your client started but couldn't finish and wants to try again

If the name or mobile number is wrong, don't resend. Delete the verification and send a new one instead. See How do I delete or cancel a verification my client hasn't completed?

How to resend a link

  1. Go to Biometric > Created.

  2. Find the verification. You can search by reference number, name or other details.

  3. Click Actions on that row.

  4. Click Resend.

You'll see: "A new verification link has been generated and is on its way via SMS. The previous verification has been archived."

The verification stays in Created with the same reference. Its status changes to Queued until your client's mobile carrier responds, and the Created and Updated dates change to the time you resent it.

The old link stops working. Tell your client to use the newest SMS. If they open an older link, it won't work.

Want to send it by email instead?

Click Actions > Copy link on the same row and paste the link into your own email. See Can I send the verification link by email instead of SMS? (Yes, here's how).

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be charged for resending?

No. Resending is free before your client completes the verification. You're only charged once a check is completed. See When am I charged for a check?

How long is the new link valid?

Links are valid for 7 days from when they're sent.

Can I change the mobile number when I resend?

No. Resend uses the same details. To use a different number, delete the verification and send a new one.

What do the statuses in Created mean?

Queued: we haven't had a delivery response from your client's mobile carrier yet. This usually clears within a few minutes. If it stays Queued, check the number, then copy the link and email it.

Delivered: the SMS reached your client's phone.

Started: your client has opened the link and begun.

The resent SMS still hasn't arrived.

Check the mobile number and country code, then copy the link and email it. See My client hasn't received their verification SMS or link.
